|
|
I have recently purchased a Minimoog and the serial # is uncomplete (the first figure is unreadable!). What I have is ?672F, knowing that the yellow label inside says that the final inspection date was june 1973, what is the first figure ?
Is 3672F a good estimate ?
I tried to find the serial number inside the box but unsuccessfully. |

Hi Y. - glad to meet you here !
From the Lords of the Mini homepage I've got this info for you:
#2663..............USA.....................gls@schanklaw.com
#2723..............USA..................kb9lad@death-star.com
#3661..............AUSTRIA.................mek@m45.magwien.gv.at
#3778..............ITALY....................servox(D)ig.com.br
Maybe you can mail these guys and ask what date is mentioned on their Mini; so you'd find out if yours is #2672 or #3672...
Also: as this is a pretty early MOOG Music Minimoog Model D - production starting from 1972 - before they were R.A. MOOG Minimoog Model D (1970) or Mudosonics Minimoog Model D (1971) - there's a good chance that it is a #2672.
Good luck & btw: I'll mail you with the configuration of my dotcom.

Thanks THM
A search on the net, helped me to found a message posted on the Analogue Heaven list in 1995 that says :
" my Mini is number 3086, dated Dec/73-Jan/74 "
Considering that and some other infos, I am now pretty sure that the Serial number of my Minimoog is 2672F.
I have already driven my Minimoog with the dotcom Q960 sequencer and it works great (though it required that I made a small V-trig to S-trig converter !
Thanks again

I managed to decypher one more character, and find out that the first figure is 2 and the second is not 6 as I thought but is 5, thus the serial number seems to be T2572E |
