Is it just me, or is there something unique about the earliest Moogs... they are the only instrument I'm aware of capable of conveying not just warmth but genuine sincerity. As in the ice-melting kind on "Here comes the Sun." I don't even think the Minimoog quite has this quality - could it have something to do with earlier-design filters?
This is why I began collecting late 60's "Moogsploitation" records, because the Moog Modular is my favorite musical instrument and I just like hearing it played, cheese factor be damned. Well, listening alone anyway .
Mebbe I'm just nuts... anyway, gratitude to Bob Moog (maybe it's your sincerity coming through, Bob) and best wishes to his family. |
