|
|
I have a Moog Prodigy that I am working on and the things has a key triggering problem.....
The CV off of the keyboard buss is causig the VCO to jump 1/2 steps randomlly depending on how hard the key is struck...
Does anyone know about a common "mod" to fix this problem...it seems like something that would frequently happen.... |

The keyboard control voltage passes through a precision resistor string that forms the voltage divider for the note frequencies.
My suggestion is to carefully remove the keyboard from the instrument (unplugging it) and inspect the solder connections on each of the divider resistors. You may have to look very carefully but I believe you may find a cracked solder joint on one of the resistors.
If this is the case, carefully reflowing solder over the cracked joint to restore the connection may solve the problem.
The problems seems to be mechanically coupled as you describe it so I would try that first.
