My interest on synthesizers began in the 1970's, hearing the music of ELP, Genesis, Yes and Rick Wakeman. But the passion really started when I first listened to "Swiitched-On Bach" and knew about Bob Moog's synths. I was a 15-year old boy and then I decided to study electronics just to build a synthesizer. I still have with me some folders I received from Moog Music, showing the full synth line and technical specifications.
I read all articles Bob Moog wrote to Keyboard magazine, and learned a lot with them.
In 1981 I got my diploma on electronic enginnering, and my graduation project was.... a digital monophonic synthesizer! Since then, I have been working with synthesizers and MIDI.
Thank you, Dr Moog, for all you did for the music technology. |
