I'm having trouble getting a sound through the external trigger. I input an electric guitar and can get the overload light blinking but no sound. I used a manual configuration which also calls for the s-trig to be inserted. I do not have a s-trig to insert. Am I out of luck? Thanks!

Is the filter open (best test starting position - you can still tweak it of course) ?
Is the amp volume open (idem) ?
And did you try while holding one note of the Mini while playing guitar ?

OK. Got something happening! I hooked up a DR-110 so I could keep my hands on the Mini, and yes, holding down the keys helped! Thanks.

Does anyone know if there is a mod available to have the envelopes autotrigger on the ext audio in?

The only way I know of to trigger a Mini is to use an Envelope Follower module. These modules split your audio signal and put-out a switch-trigger
for the mini's envelope generator to run the filter.I have ran a Paia modular from a guitar, but never had the oppertunity to use a Moog envelope follower. These were put in some of the modular systems as a way to process external signals(other than oscillators).
You could build the equipment, but it would be difficult.I suggest a (temporary-on) floor switch. All the switch has to do is short the two-pins together to trigger the envelope follower.Crude like a wha-wha,but usable!
