my pedals stopped working and 1 works intermittently,have pedal unit apart, contacts are black and coated with dust.what is best way to clean? isopropyl? |

The safest and most effective way to clean gold plated contact rails is to polish them with a SOFT white pencil eraser. The black verdigris will come off like magic, then you can wipe any rubber residue off with a cloth. Don't use anything that will scrape the gold plating off, do not use an abrasive ink eraser, it must be soft white rubber. |

The contacts on Taurus I pedals are NOT gold, they are SILVER plated.
Do not use erasers on them - use tarnish remover. They're a bit of a bear to disassemble. And do not use anything abrasive on the contacts. |
